CPCS A56 Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) – Novice Course

The CPCS A56 Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) Novice Course with Entra Training is designed for individuals who are new to operating articulated dump trucks or who have limited on-site experience and require formal training and CPCS certification.

This course provides learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and safe operating techniques needed to operate an articulated dump truck competently and in line with current CPCS standards, Health & Safety legislation, and industry best practice.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for:

• New entrants to the construction and plant industry

• Operatives with little or no ADT experience

No previous experience is required.

Course content includes:

• Roles and responsibilities of the ADT operator

• Relevant legislation, regulations, and industry guidance

• Machine components, controls, and instrumentation

• Daily and periodic checks

• Safe travelling, manoeuvring, and loading techniques

• Working on inclines, uneven ground, and confined areas

• Safe tipping procedures and stability awareness

• Hazard awareness and site safety

• Environmental considerations

• Shutdown and securing procedures

Course duration:

Typically 3–5 days, depending on experience levels, followed by CPCS technical tests.

Certification:

On successful completion of the CPCS theory and practical tests, learners will achieve the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (A56 Articulated Dump Truck).

Entry requirements:

• Valid  Health, Safety & Environment Test (within the last 2 years)
