Entra Training provides Agricultural Tractor training and testing for operators working in construction, agriculture, land-based industries and other working environments.

Courses are available for complete beginners, experienced tractor operators and candidates who are ready to go straight to test.

About the Course

This course gives operators the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate an agricultural tractor.

Training covers safe tractor operation, travelling and manoeuvring, working on varying ground conditions and the safe use of trailed, mounted and power-driven implements.

What Will You Learn?

• Tractor components and controls

How Will You Be Tested?

The assessment will depend on whether you choose CPCS, NPORS or in-house certification.

You will normally be assessed on both your theoretical knowledge and practical operating ability.

The practical assessment can include:

• Completing pre-use checks
• Preparing the tractor for work
• Travelling and manoeuvring
• Operating over varying terrain and inclines
• Manoeuvring in restricted areas
• Connecting and disconnecting implements
• Safely using mounted or trailed equipment
• Using PTO-driven equipment where applicable
• Completing a practical work activity
• Parking and shutting down correctly

Suitable for employers who require agricultural tractor operator training and certification without a CPCS or NPORS card.

Course Requirements

Novice Operators

No previous agricultural tractor operating experience is required.

Experienced Operators

You should already have practical experience operating agricultural tractors.

Test-Only Candidates

You should be a competent and experienced operator capable of completing the assessment without additional training.

Candidates should bring suitable PPE and any identification or documentation requested when booking.

CSCS & Health and Safety

Candidates requiring a CPCS card or applicable NPORS card displaying the CSCS logo will need to meet the relevant health and safety requirements.

This may include holding a valid health, safety and environmental test depending on the certification route selected.
